Want to install many apps without limits and install paid apps for free from other website??But getting error the you have come to the right place this tutorial will show you how to root Galaxy Y.Rooting enables you to install any apps from 3rd party websites.
Note- Do this at your own risk Geek's Grave is not responsible if anything happens to your phone(It happens only if you do it wrong).
Before going to the rooting-
- Make sure that your galaxy Y is charged at least up to 80%otherwise your phone will not work after rooting.
- Backup your phone
- Enable Usb debugging.To do this Go to Settings>Development>Usb Debugging.
- Close all apps and uninstall the unneeded one.Remember to close the Antivirus other background apps.
How to Root-
Note-Use volume buttons for navigation and power button to select.
- Download the update file for your galaxy Y here.
- Now connect it to your laptop or PC using a USB and paste the file into your memory or SD card of your device.(Warning-don't paste this in any folders.paste only in SD card).
- Switch off your device.
- Now once your device is switched off,press volume up button,the center home button and the power button at time and wait until it starts.Note- You need to press all three buttons together.
- Once it starts you will see a new black screen with some text on it.
- You will have some options they are -Reboot system now,Apply SD card update.zip,wipe data factory rest,wipe cache partition.
- Select Apply SD card update.zip by hitting volume button down or up and highlight the option and select it by hitting power button.
- Select choose zip from SD card and select update.zip
- It will ask a confirmation select yes
- The rooting will take 10-15 minutes and after rooting it will restart automatically and normal booting takes place.
- Enjoy your Rooted device!
